JustPhilanthropy.org, the website for moving philanthropy closer to social justice and racial equity has received a major upgrade. We’ve kept the focus on reducing disparities and closing gaps to make society’s systems and markets perform more fairly for different groups. After five years of vetting these pathways and the skill sets that make for a stronger philanthropy, we’re even more convinced they make up “the DNA of constructive social change.” There’s all-new content on each of the Pathways to Progress pages, with more benchmark practices, explanation, evaluation benchmark, examples and resources. There’s all-new layout, with easier navigation, legibility, and flow. With this significant upgrade, we hold these aspirations for the website: Base the lessons to the larger field directly on the experience of those in the field working to make equity and fairness happen. Show the interconnections of organizational effectiveness, evaluation of progress, and the philanthropic goal of helping America achieve the dream of justice for all. Provide a big tent for the variety of philanthropic organizations to find each other and recognize opportunities to be useful together. Show practical ways for a philanthropic organization to move forward, drawing on our “benchmark practices.” Be a guide for making grants, revealing the pathways to progress in achieving greater fairness and equity in the way our society’s systems and markets can work. Provide useful material for productive discussion at staff and Board meetings, serving to strengthen and legitimize this work. Inform the variety of players in philanthropy of the options and strategies available for making a real difference. Show ways of demonstrating organizational effectiveness by showing benchmark signs of progress. Provide material for organizational and community learning on strategies for achieving effectiveness in disparities reduction. We invite you to take a good look at JustPhilanthropy.org and let us know how it works for you.
