Community Philanthropy

Most broadly, philanthropy is the giving of one’s time, talent and treasure to create improvements to the vitality of society. Community philanthropy invests in and celebrates human competencies and cultural traditions as assets and uses these resources to foster risk-taking and creativity in tackling community problems. Community philanthropy recognizes that solutions to community problems often come from unexpected places and from people excluded from community decision-making.
